Jason Choi is a private investor focusing on frontier technology.
Jason co-founded Tangent, a principal investment group focusing on AI across private and public markets. Jason is also an angel investor in startups in humanoid robotics, advanced cancer diagnostics, and consumer AI applications.
Prior to Tangent, Jason became interested in crypto after reading the Ethereum whitepaper as a college student. He joined Hong Kong’s first digital assets hedge fund, Spartan Capital, and helped build it into one of Asia’s most prominent institutional funds in the nascent asset class. As General Partner and Head of Research for liquid strategies, Jason led his team to delivering Top 5 APAC hedge fund returns in 2020 and Top 10 global hedge fund returns in 2021.
Jason’s podcast, Blockcrunch, which interviewed founders and investors in crypto, has had over 1M in lifetime downloads. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School of Business, and was named Forbes 30 under 30 for Venture Capital and Finance in 2022.
He is interested in financial history, heavy metal music, and trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a hobbyist.
